History of Our Church

Sanctuary

In February 2001, Pastor Carlton J. Sharp established the Faith Christian Center Church of Beaumont, Texas, with 20 members. The vision started by holding services in a hotel twice a week for one year, until February 2002. While worshipping in the hotel, God spoke to Pastor Sharp to begin a weekly television broadcast which airs every Sunday morning. In the fourth quarter of 2001, Pastor Sharp received a vision of what Faith Christian Center Church was to look like and in November of the same year, the old and vacant Colonnade Theater was acquired at 6490 Phelan Boulevard.

This was a four cinema theater building with all of the theater equipment and contents left behind. With 80 members, they begin to clear out the largest theater to construct the new sanctuary (pictured).

After completion of the sanctuary, Pastor received the vision to construct Administration Offices and a Children's Church facility, a second theater was cleared and construction was completed in April 2004.

In 2005, the main foyer received a face lift and a resource center, The Faith Store, was completed.

God gave Pastor Sharp the vision of building a distinctly different church, where people would be taught and given an example of holiness, character, and integrity. This born-again and spirit-filled church is to have an emphasis on building men and women with a God-conscience so that they function as husbands, wives, and parents in a manner that glorifies God and impacts this generation. To reach the lost and hurting with the message of faith and the loving touch to help men and women overcome the challenges in life, this church is to provide enrichment through special emphasis ministry.
